With the stairway cut to pieces and removed, and the roof supports installed, the wall came out;

As the bricks came out of the wall, they were 'processed' by Susanna and myself and second hand bricks became third hand bricks.
Above, stacked about twice as much as we needed to fill in the hole left by the door. Below, the scaring left by the wall and some cleaning up of electrical wiring, the roof supports have now been removed. The wall came out on and the beam went in on the Saturday.

Removing the door bricks proved extemely dusty and hence the blue tarp. We had to use a grinder as we keep on damaging bricks while trying to remove them.
Andreas had turned up on Sunday and had the job of removing the door frame and bricks.
Once removed, the small stairs under the door had to go as well and joists cleaned up. Then bricking up the door could begin, Toc shows us how.
And on Monday, I started laying the bricks.
At a pace 10 times slower than a professional, . . . it is 11pm when I get the last brick in . . . below,

More to come, exciting developments include rendering, actually no photos exist. Floors sanded and oiled - Susanna. Stairs still be made by Peter - actually installing them as I do this. Light sanding of walls, cleaning of walls, undercoat on render, first coat on render and any dark patches, final coat, then some kick boards and skirting boards installed. And then furniture can move in! And some ceiling insulation still needs to go in. And a roof window. And the lighting, those halogens just have to go. And then the kitchen. And .. .
