England, 2023

Thursday, 10/08/2023 I caught a full flight to Heathrow again on Thursday, and again with Austrian Airlines, meeting up with Paul at 5pm outside the Italian resturant at St Pancreas after a nervous train ride on the brand new Elizabeth line. We hop on the train to Market Harborough together and Luke picks us up at the station.

Friday sees us, after a leisurely breakfast, grab the bikes and pick up a friend of Bec's, Aussie Jane (she is from Adelaide) and ride out to a busy Wistow Garden Centre for lunch.

Saturday was a lot of walking, including this famous glacial stone on some farmer's property, the Judith Stone . . . .

On Sunday, we pick up another friend of Bec's, Lady T (Tara) before we start out on a 8 hour expedition on the canal caravan...

Capt Andie and Paul, demonstrating how to cope with the stresses of sailing such boats.

There was a 800+m long tunnel and of course, another boat was coming the other way, not a lot of room. And there were bats . . .

On Monday morning, Andy drops Paul and myself off at the railway station. I leave Paul in London, and as with last year, retrace my steps back to Vienna.
